Shortly after becoming an anterior segment ophthalmic surgeon in 1995, Karl Brasse, M.D., of Vreden, Germany, began taking photographs to demonstrate the effects of various eye conditions and diseases to his patients. Soon after, his clinical works caught the eye of several European ophthalmic manufacturers who wanted him to design projects for them. Their interest in his work spurred him to contact an old school friend, Guido Schulte, a certified graphic designer, and Eyeland Design Network became an overnight success.
 In 2003, Curt Flakowsky and Rene Paradies, trained architects and 3D animation specialists, joined the team to develop the Eyeland 3D image and animation division.
No doubt you will recognize their works on numerous covers of EyeWorld Magazine and other trade publications. You may also be acquainted with their compositions as the powerful, image-boosting component of many device and pharmaceutical manufacturers’ professional marketing campaigns.
