Knowing your surgical outcome statistics is critical in building confidence in laser vision correction candidates. The LVC Counselor™ Software is a multilayered application that contains a comprehensive series of simulations, animations and charts to create a dynamic and systematic approach to educating patients about laser vision correction. Showing patients your laser vision correction outcomes is but one of the many features included in the LVC Counselor™.
In order to maximize the effectiveness of your LVC Counselor™ Software, we highly recommend using Dr. Perry Binder’s Outcomes Analysis Software to track your outcomes and provide you with meaningful statistical information that you can include in your presentations to prospective LVC patients.
As a special consideration to PEC customers, Dr. Binder is offering a 10% Discount to any LVC Counselor™ user. When ordering the software or a demo of the software, be sure to enter PROMO CODE: PEC to receive your discount.
What is the Outcomes Analysis Software?
Today more and more patients are requesting the predictability of their individual results. Now, thanks to Dr. Perry S. Binder and the Outcomes Analysis Software, those results can be accessed quickly and easily through this amazing program. The software helps to deliver predictable outcome results including but not limited to: refractive, lasik, PRK, acuity, nomogram, Phakic IOL, and cataract outcomes based on data from your past procedures.
This v4.0 of Outcomes Analysis Software runs on FileMakerPro v7.0. A new and easy to use user interface makes data entry simpler. We have added 20 more charts including a radar plot of induced astigmatism. Regression analysis was added to automatically and continually study and improve visual and refractive outcomes.
This program is the only ophthalmology outcomes software that automatically performs an analysis of wavefront guided laser surgery. Most importantly, it can study and analyze ANY surgical procedure that changes the refractive error of the eye (LASIK, PRK, Phakic IOLs, cataract procedures, multifocal IOLs, CK, Intacts).
Why do I need this program?
Do I really know the results of my procedures?
Do I know how many procedures I performed last year? And how many types? Which surgeon performed which procedures?
Where did my patients come from last year? Is my website generating referrals? How many of my cases were co-managed? Which source was the biggest referral?
How many of my procedures had 20/20 uncorrected acuity? How many were within 0.5 diopters of emmetropia? How many lines of BSCVA were gained or lost for a given procedure? Did I get better results with one laser compared to another? Did one surgeon have better results? Which complication were the most frequent? What are the factors that are affecting my results?
If a patient asks me what their chances are for obtaining 20/20 UCVA, can I tell them with any accuracy? How happy are my patients with their results?
What flap parameters do I routinely get with my flap creation system?
Did Custom Laser ablation improve my results? Can I automatically analyze my wavefront data? How did my surgery affect contrast sensitivity?

Today patients request the predictability of their individual results. Version 4.0 uses REGRESSION ANALYSIS to improve your results. In order to analyze outcome data, one has to make a chart review. The data is either placed into a spreadsheet or is analyzed by hand. When additional factors need to be searched and analyzed, or a more recent analysis is needed, one repeats the process. The result is always a less than satisfactory and requires a significant amount of time for the surgeon and/or the office staff. Version 4.0 allows automatic analyses and updates of data. It also allows the user to save a set of patients for future study so that even if their data is updated, the SAME set of eyes is analyzed to allow accurate, longitudinal analysis of data. Through data analysis one can increase the percentage of good results which translates into happy patients and their referrals while enhancing your reputation. Version 4.0 generates a regression analysis, a surgical nomogram and different scattergraphs of refractive outcomes.
Keeping Track of Patient Referral Sources
Referral sources are a major source of patients for refractive surgery. Keeping track of those sources is important. This program allows the user to send a referral letter for EACH eye operated saving dictation time and expense. The referral summary letter lists ALL cases referred by a single source and thanks that source for the referral while at the same time allowing them to see how well their referred cases have done. Frequent mailings of such letters will stimulate referrals.
The whole process is easy saving time and transcription costs as well as saving time for pulling charts over and over again for the same referral sources. The referral letter is totally editable by the user. The program automatically generates an operative note. This note is entirely editable by the user. A written operative note is important for record keeping and for medical legal purposes. Time and transcription money is saved. The program checks for data entry errors whereas spreadsheets and paper reviews cannot. This increases the accuracy of data analysis and decreases the chances of incorrect conclusions. Journals and scientific meetings now require specific formats for data presentation. This program allows the user to analyze and present the data in ANY format.
Flexible/Editable Database
This database is open to endless modifications all editable by the user. It can be used to analyze phakic IOL procedures, clear lens extraction, lens exchanges, Intacs procedures, or any procedure that uses acuity and refractive error as an outcome measure. As new techniques, instruments, and diagnoses occur, they can be automatically updated. It performs safety tests to assure the postoperative corneal power will be greater than 37 diopters and the residual corneal thickness will be greater than 250 microns. It predicts and then analyses flap thickness.
