“Understanding Your Procedure” Programs Help Document The Informed Consent Process

“Understanding Your Procedure” programs are updated versions of the previous series “Preparing for Your Procedure”. They were updated in April 2010 and are now available in English and Spanish. These programs are designed to help create realistic expectations and inform patients of the more common risks and side effects associated with surgical procedures. A True/False Questionnaire accompanies some programs. PEC no longer provides written consent forms. We highly recommend downloading OMIC's consent form to use in combination with our Understanding Your Procedures videos.
